This is a beautifully hand carved owl that has flown all the way from Indonesia! Wood carving is a skill that has been handed down through the generations in Bali and the artisan who crafted this owl is particularly skillful. His name is Nyoman and he carves with great detail. In this case he has used Waru wood, also known as Hibiscus wood, The wood makes for distinctive two-tone carvings, white blended with greyish brown. As the wood ages, the grey/brown turns greenish and produces a very attractive appearance. Please note, as each owl is unique, your owl may not look exactly the same as the one pictured, or have exactly the same dimensions.
